Default HELP WITH HOSES!

Chaps,

I am trying to renew the hoses in my 2006 WRX STi - Spec D. 2.5 blah blah. I have minor hesitation - even after full service, compression test, smoke test, coolant, sparks, oil, filters, you name it. Car pulls hard to 6k then...nada.

Anyway - is this a MAF sensor thing? Any fixes?

If not - and it's hoses-related, will these bad boys fit my ride? Thanks.

Afraid to say Doc but your VF 43 is out of chuff around 5600-800 RPM so if what your description relates to no more pull / well of course there won’t be any to give / also don’t know how you can describe a car derived on torque to say “ minor hesitation , pulls hard to 6k then nothing , ha ha crazy dude / if you do have hesitation problems think you need to re phrase

i also all be it not very often get a hesitation (slight cough is best way i can think to describe it) on a v3 sti at around 6500rpm and only in 2nd gear i always figured it must be the afm maxing out, ive upgraded everything else and 95% of the time its not there but still annoying. i bought a z32 afm but never got round to putting it in as wasnt sure on the wiring.

Say again?

Sorry - do you mean my engine is basically all torque, so won't rev all the way to 7k?

If so - that's great. I'm a new Scooby owner and don't know how these engines work/behave.

Cheers.

It will rev to 7k but there isn’t anything there on the stock 2.5 running a VF43
Yes the EJ257 is derived on torque , absolute no need to rev hard 8k limiter , but maxed out well before then

Sorry guys.

Yes - the car boosts, pulls like mad (dyno last month = 279hp stock), but I can't rev WOT past 5.8 to 6k.

Is this normal? Thanks for helping a nub.

Got it. Cheers.

So - stock VF 43 turbo gives me all my boost/power from 3k to 6k tops? Fine with me - so long as that's what the stock system offers.

I can always mod the frick out of it down the line

Yup - I had new coolant and flush recently, so all good there.

im guessing someone with same model will confirm, but yeah its plausible its just running out of puff. i think the optimum shift for me was around 6200rpm when i had the vf23 on. (pretty small turbo though but good fun)
