Default ghost immobiliser

this looks rather good and something i am very tempted in getting. quite a few car thefts going on at the minute so a little extra peace of mind. i know valet mode would only let the car drive at a certain speed (ive seen it on youtube on an auto) but how would it work on a manual car?

***forget valet mode i thought it reduced the cars performance***

No, its only Canbus equipped vehicles, I think its from 2012 Subaru's onwards, its compatable, Chris fitted a Cat 1 Cobra system to my spec c hatch, spent all day on it, & you cannot see a wire from the install anywhere, he even removes the wiper panel under the windscreen to fit the siren, so no engine bay heat problems you get with most alarms over time, the Ghost system is not Thatcham approved, so for insurance its a no go.

thanks paul, its not so much the alarm im interested in (nobody batters an eyelid at an alarm going off) im more interested in other ways of stopping the car being taken. something that would cut the car out after a certain range would be ideal.

i will be having an after market ecu fitted this year (link/simtek) do they offer any sort of security measures for the car?
