Bought a couple off them in the past, decent enough service.

Wouldn't get me paying the prices they're charging now though, but I suppose that applies to pretty much all price gouging Subaru traders.

I can only assume all these traders must have some alternative source of income given how long they seem to be prepared to have cars left sat around at eye watering prices waiting for some idiot to eventually rock up and pay what's being asked.

I think their feedback is generally good.... and they stock some lovely cars. As above, overpriced.... but what trader isn't....

I've been to buy a couple of cars from Max at Hurst in the past and I have had no problem, straight forward and good to deal with. Most recently I went with a friend and he bought a genuine grade 4B STI blob, very nice condition, underside mint. I bought a V2 STI RA off him a couple of years ago which I loved.
As always do a Japanese history check on Car VX https://carvx.jp/ this gives you any past auction sheets and history of the car where documented. The Spec C hatch seems cheap but it has a few miles on (i'm not really up on prices with these) but i'd have no problem buying from him again, just do your homework beforehand.

Hi, thanks for your advise, I'll do some checks when I get more info on the car

Would you be planning keeping it long? Re-sale could be a bugger on that kind of miles. It’s definitely not expensive for what it is though, providing there’s a decent warranty.

Was the engine built before you bought it? Just wondering how he'd know if the engine was going to fail or not?

stock engine. To be fair other than being down in power (about 240 instead of 280) engine ran ok

I suppose it's one of those things, still an older car at the end of the day which still gets driven quite hard! All you can is inspect as best as possible.

I'd say 2/3 years, it's not for me it's for the Mrs, I'll be speaking with them on Thursday to get the full spec/info, then I'll decide.

I knew the engine would need doing sooner or later, it was more the accusations and arguing with the faults that wouldnout me off going back.

I wouldn't take much notice of tidgy, he just doesn't like anything unless it's scooby clinic.
at least one of max's employees won't have smashed it through potholes.
