But all subaru engines are same configuration, flat 4 or 6. So doesnt really make sense, unless they mean they are just retiring the 2.0 turbo?

The end of the EJ series - they've moved on with FA and FB series engines, better emission control with direct injection etc.

It's beginning to look like that, although it's also rip 6MT as CVT seems to be the way they are going with Hybrids on route.

The FA and FB have both had turbo versions in recent years but even the 1.6T engine in the Levorg has been replaced with a 2.0L NA engine to meet current emissions.

Both new "e-boxer" VX and Forester are only mild self-charging hybrids with the electric motor mounted on the input shaft of the CVT box.

Final nail in a coffin that’s been 10 years in the making.

There aiming more to US market. Makes no difference really, electric will end up taking over anyway. And none of the new stuff really interests me.
