Default ALWAYS do an HPI check if you’re buying!

Just a reminder for people buying not just Subaru but any car. I was going to see a lovely bugeye tomorrow in the hope of buying. I’ve been speaking to the seller for about 3 weeks. He never told me about any issues. I just carried out an HPI check at the cost of £19.99 to find it’s a cat S write off. Gutted to say the least.

It's always worth checking low mile ones as I always think why such low miles. Accident ones can be off the road for years.

All the previous MOTs looked good. No dodgy mileage changes.

The search continues.

Well it’s definitely a different shade of silver between the two halves of the car.

Cars back on gumtree. No mention of the cat S write off. Looks like a beautiful car and probably fixed to a high standard but surely the seller should be making people aware ?!

The level of prang it’s had , plus how it’s been repaired is important , i knew my first fsti had been pranged , i still bought it , i had it for 11 years did 193k miles in it , the rot got in unrelated to a prang , and i broke it in the end , but i never regret buying it , there is a jap company carvx , who are good to use for jdm imports

I don’t doubt it’s probably fixed to a high standard. It’s the fact the owner is keeping it quiet.

He should be telling people even if he does not want to , if he’s up front about it then he’s more likely to sell it

This is back up for sale. Now in Facebook for £4200. It was £3000 when I was looking so obviously someone’s bought it for a quick flip. I’ve messaged the seller. He messaged back saying okay, thank you.... still no mention in the add.
