20 years is a staggeringly long time. I’m at 13 years between this and the old profile.

maybe you could do a top 10 of your highlights over the past 20 years. Including people, cars and events that really stand out to you and the community,

best regards

I have done 20 years (profile only shows 18) and I am now also the wrong side of 50.
I realise that makes it sounds like a prison sentence

Feb 1999 I joined with my original profile, bought my V3 STi wagon in August 1999 - still got it sat in the garage, 55k miles, last on the road 2 years ago, just comes out onto the drive every few weeks to give it a run, might mot it this year 👍

yeah... organising three Scooby ***** (dinner dances) in the early 2000's.... someone must have some pix.

and when Gridlock Mikey arranged THE BIG ONE in Nottm... that was a mental meet.... about 400 cars from all over the country came.... it was hot too.... that then started off the NBO.

Must've been 98, it was pretty active by the time I joined. One of my early memories was John Stevenson put me in touch with the chap who set up Cult Car tours (name escapes me) as I was due to visit Chiang Mai, it was just before Cult Car tours started but I was met by the company's local business manager and he treated us to a holiday of a lifetime, all because of the Snet community

Car’s looking good though.

Didn’t you have a stickered up red classic with all the neons? I had a rather questionable classic back in the day too. Must admit I even had Lexus lights when I got it! I did swap them for a set of genuine sti lights though. Which reminds me, the bloke I did the deal with never paid me the £50 we agreed on extra.

Mind you, imagine swapping a set of genuine sti lights for some crappy Lexus ones and paying £50 on top! But nearly 20 years ago they were more valuable, crazy! You’re still a **** if you’re reading this!

Must be 20 and a bit more years for me as well under a couple of user names.

Be honest, did we really think the Impreza turbo would become a 'classic' and we would still have one?

For me I have to say yes.

I have two scoobs, my original classic ive had for 17 or so years, that was about 280bhp and got a Blob Eye that has anti lag and launch control not sure on BHP probably about 320 or so (total guess) the Mustang is about 480 bhp (supercharged)

The Mustang is quicker in a straight line and feels faster once moving, the classic is the fastest off the line, the mustang is **** on country roads the Blob somewhere in between the two but not as much fun to drive

I thought the Mustang would be average round the twisties. Back in the summer I had a friendly head to head with a 2017 Vanquish around the dual carriageways and roundabouts of Milton Keynes (presumably on its way to Newport Pagnell for service work).

I thought it would cane my classic, but it was only when we got to a long straight with no roundabouts that he shot into the distance. At almost sane speeds between and into and out of the roundabouts the Impreza more than held its own. I think a P1 WR in the real world would be uncatchable.
