The wheels will fit with the right tyre and camber combo. May need a rear arch slight roll too, but essentially yes.

Maybe you should actually read things before you post stupid half baked nonsensical replies to things you don't understand making you look even more stupid than I thought possible?

Great trolling fail! hahaha

Yikes. Sounds like you need a dehumidifier set up and running inside the car to get all the moisture out and loads of silica bags thrown around the interior too. Get it cleaned and drive it for a couple of weeks to get it warm and dried out.

I have 18inch 9.5 and et 38 rotas on my widetrack and I had to get the rear end lifted as the arches were cutting into my tyres but all good now, I don’t have more than my missus who is 8 stone odd and my 2 year old child in the car though.

Have you got pics of these fitted you'd care to share?

Assuming you had 7.5J - 8J before was there a noticable difference when going wider?

Cheers

Edit: Found the pics here: https://www.scoobynet.com/members-gallery-5/1060667-2005-sti.html

Good to hear!

Years ago I ran 18"s in white on my blob. Don't think there was any arch work needed but I was running BC Coilies so not sure if that meant I could go bigger then what stock suspension would allow.

17’s & 18’s end up with the same tyre diameter overall. When you gain an 1” of wheel you lose 0.5” of tyre profile (from all around, so 0.5” from both sides of the wheel ).

Completely agree mate.

Wasn't sure if I miss read it on this tread or another someone said they struggled with 18s on stock suspension. I never had that combo on my blob so I think I just over thought it. Didn't want anyone to read what I put and then try it to then find it didn't work for them. However the other factor is width.

I always assumed the newage cars were fine with 18s.

Provided the correct tyre sizes are used 18’s are fine (again the person could have had a different offset or whatever was the issue). If the diameter of the tyre is altered it’ll throw the speedo out which will in turn mess the odometer reading (and therefore service intervals) up (same effect as adjusting sprocket sizes on a motorbike).

XXR 527 alloys (plenty on eBay for £450 - £500 a set new come in 18” x 8.75” with an offset of ET35 & I believe these also fit without mods however you may need to stretch the tyres to get the edge of the tread under the arch (which seems a bit pointless to me as what’s the point in having wider wheels if you don’t have wider tyres?

Interested to gear from anyone if wider is noticably better , going 8J all round is another couple of inches & who doesn't want that.
