Default 2003 wrx remapping and got compression done

I've a 2003 UK wrx, decided to get it remapped to get some more horsepower but moreso just better power delivery

Got car sorted for remapping . Fully serviced , fitted new fuel pump and cosworth filter. Put new front discs and pads on while was at it too. Mapper is fitting 3 port boost solenoid on day of mapping . While servicing I Got the mechanic to do a compression test on engine also.

Cylinder 1. 180 psi
Cylinder 2. 179 psi
Cylinder 3. 174 psi
Cylinder 4. 176 psi

Do these reading seem good . The mechanic said they were sign of a good engine.

Hopefully restrictions lifted in May and remapping goes ahead.

Thanks for any advice in advance 👍

Hi Iain,

I had a 1993 jdm wrx back in 2001 and then type r in 2008. Decided wanted back into an Impreza again. It's a weekend car. I haven't driven more than 400 mile since got it months ago . It just feels slowish compared to how I remember my old imprezas. Granted the type r was well modified and s complete rocket.

It feels like modern cars have caught up a bit as such. Diesels feel so torquey nowadays. My main car is a 2012 c250 diesel 204 bhp so it's quick regardless of being a diesel.

So plans are hopefully get an extra 40 bhp hopefully. It's a decat full stainless steel exhaust, just had a full service

-Genuine Subaru JDM Black Oil Filter
-Genuine Subaru Oil Bung Washer
-NGK PFR7B Plug
-Millers CFS Fully Syn 10/40
-Motul Transmission Oil 1Litre 75/90
-Bosch Fuel Filter
Cosworth panel filter
New walhbro 255 fuel pump fitted

The mapper in the day will fit a 3 port boost solenoid and it will be mapped to run on octane boost. I'm I'm b in Ireland so only crap ron95 petrol here.

If I could get a few more horses and better power delivery if be quite happy . I'm not looking for massive power

Nice looking car! You’ve been used to light classics so this will feel fat in comparison, Some extra ponies will help liven it up a bit

Very true Iain . Feels very heavy . I git a spin in my friends 280 bhp vxr and couldn't believe how quick it felt. The wrx felt so slow in comparison . So decided to go down the extra power route .
