Why not double din head unit with android app and dongle in the OBD2 port. I thought the new age ecus fed out some of that data with there being different app or apps required depending on UK car or JDM car.

As above and BTSSM is a very good option. Make sure you buy a head unit that will let you install the app, top of the range ones don't tend to for safety reasons. ie your supposed to have your eyes on the road. Think I've pictures somewhere I'll look. Found one don't take any notice of what's on it but it'll give you an idea.

I used a bluetooth ODBKey unit on my FSTI with a tablet running Torque Pro and it was brilliant. Instant response and configured loads of additional gauges with it. Very nice solution.

Tried that and the OBDkey wasn't compatible with BTSSM so ran a cheap vag com/vcds cable from the OBD port to the rear usb connector on the head unit and perfect
Have a brand new OBDkey here if anyone needs one £55 delivered.
