Default Bucket seats for fat people

So, after corona etc I barely fit into my OMP bucket seats. The problem is my hips, coupled with the steel framed buckets. I've just measured the seat, and it looks as if there's about 37cm of space between the rails on the side, which sadly is just too small for me.

I'm not too sorry to see the back of the seats anyway, because they're old and not too nice (had them since 2009, and they were used then), so probably due new seats anyway.

Anyway, I thought I'd see what the rest of the fat subaru drivers run. Ideally I'd like to get away with under 5-600 for a pair of seats, so the fancier seats are not an option unfortunately.

Not sure if any of the people from this group buy are still kicking around but they may be able to give some feedback on ownership over the years

https://www.scoobynet.com/group-buys...and-rails.html

There may be interest in another group buy also. I know Corbeau did have a policy of making a production run when they had a set number of orders. I looked into around 10 months ago now, I could place an order but I would need wait X amount of time until the order book was full or they had sufficient orders to warrant making another batch. I’d possibly be interested in a group buy. They also make them in XL.

I have a Cobra Sebring Pro GT in my car - I'm 6ft tall and 38/40 waist and it fits me perfectly. I feel very connected to the car once I'm in it, you kind of fall in and wriggle out but you get used to that.

I think now Cobra call it the Sebring T or there is the TLP version if you're even taller

clubsports are discontinued are are difficult to find second hand. XL seats are selling for over £500 used now! I was looking out for 2 pairs (scooby and Clio track car) but couldn’t find a good set for reasonable money.

Ah, that's why I can't find any

@SpecCTypeRA those seats look really nice! I wonder how much my Mrs would kill me if I bought a pair of seats for 1200

Would you not consider a slight compromise to gain a bit more comfort? There is a noticeable difference between my V7 Bug STI and later Blob STI seats. V7 are far more supportive and figure hugging but not as drastic as buckets. Even my 11 year old lad can feel the difference at 5 foot tall & a waist like a twiglet when he jumps from one to another on the odd days we switch rides. I’m sure with harnesses you’d feel better supported again. I’m toying with the idea simply because I could then set up my driving position almost exactly between the 2 cars. You may not wish to compromise or it simply may not suit you but thought I’d put it out there.

Problem is I have a full weld in cage, so I think I should really have some buckets with harnesses (or grind out the front half of the cage, and fit interior again, which is something else I'm toying with).
