Default Advice on corrosion repair

My wagon failed it's MOT back in November due to corrosion around the rear struts. TDR (who have maintained the car since I've had it so know it back to front) quoted around £1k to fix it for the MOT but cautioned it wouldn't be a long-term fix (they don't do this sort of work as a rule) and we'd probably be chasing the rot from here on in, so I've taken it off the road since then.

Now I need to decide what to do with the old girl. I've put too much into her just to simply scrap her and I've got some spare cash so want to see how much it would be to have the corrosion properly looked at. Not just patch up the obvious problems but give the whole car a good going over. Essentially a mini restoration. She's mechanically very sound and apart from a few scratches and one body panel that needs some work the body is fine. The interior is very good. Obviously I'm invested but i think she's worth trying to save.

So my first question to all you lovely people is, am I mad? Yes, obviously, but is this even feasible without it costing a small fortune? My budget in mind is £2-3k.

Second question is can anyone recommend a good place in the West Midlands to take it? There a re a few resotoration specialists locally but I'm guessing they will be very expensive. I'll probably contact them for quotes nayway but it's always best to go on a recommendation.

Cheers everyone.
