is 370bhp safe on these mods
Hi just in the process of selling my car , had a potential buyer but was put off or taking the pee a bit obviously wanting more money of the car . He says its on the limit and could blow the engine . My cars a 2006 sti type uk widetrack running approx 370bhp . supporting mods are VR43 turbo , 3 port boost solonoid , rcm uprated fuel pump , perrin intake with apollo k+n induction , equal length headers with full decat exhaust and remapped by FB tuning . I thought its about right 350 to 380bhp with a vf43 turbo . cheers

Assuming it's a 2.5 Hawk (and not a very late 2.0 Blob) on its original engine then I could understand him being wary, but even with a standard 2.5 I would be budgeting for a rebuild based upon all the reported failures. If it has been properly rebuilt (or it's a 2.0 Blob) then a correctly set up 370bhp should be safe as houses. Happy to be corrected!

Nothing wrong with that at all. I know it’s not what the potential buyer claimed but mileage and price could be a factor. Few people on here looking to buy again. May be worth updating this thread. After all it is not a “for sale” thread so you can’t get your wrists slapped! 👍🏼
