Garages near Hertford, Hertfordshire
Hi there, i have a relatively new 2006 WRX (new to me!) that i made an impromptu purchase on, having owned a modified MY00 15+ years ago. At idle it has loud rattle / knock - outside of the normal ticking noise, that sometimes goes away. The noise is there at light throttle and eases off / isn't noticeable at low speed driving. The noise also comes back quite a lot when you lift off the throttle. I am hoping it is an exhaust gasket and not something worse... I haven't revved over 3k in the car yet. The car has done just under 80k.
Looking for a knowledgeable mechanic this way to service it and hopefully know what is wrong with it.

Any other suggestions on places that are near-ish? I spoke FB Tuning who said he was busy for a few weeks and to email him which i did and haven't heard back. I assume Subaru4u is http://www.subaru4you.co.uk/ and tried calling twice but no answer and would be good to find someone a bit closer.
A local garage took a quick look and said they think it's engine so potentially looking to have heads done or engine done.

I spoke to FB Tuning on Monday who said he was busy for a few weeks but to drop him an email. I emailed and got no reply, followed up with a text and checked the email address but he never confirmed if he got it. I tried Subaru4u twice but no answer. Would like to try and find somewhere closer if it exists? The local garage had a quick look for me and are pretty sure it is engine and not a heat shield so potentially now looking at new heads / rebuild so definitely keen to find someone recommended that can check the rest of the car out too before committing to further spend.
