Default 2.35 camshafts

I have a 2.35 engine that i am going to fit in my Forester STI which has DBW throttle.
The engine was originaly built (but never used)to go in a 2003 impreza STI with cable throttle so the camshafts fitted to the engine have different pickups for the sensors to the ones needed in the forester (DBW has 3 wires non DBW has 2).
The engine has Cosworth cams fitted so would like to keep them ,does anyone know a way around this or will I have to buy a set of non DBW cams?
Cheers.

What ECU do you plan to use?

I’m running a syvecs with 2 pin cam sensors and a DBW throttle, all I did was run and terminate extra wiring for the two 2 pin cam position sensors and the cam phase position sensor located behind the passenger side cam pulley back to the Syvecs. Very easy to do and the Syvecs is easily setup to run this combo.

Let me know if you need further details/guidance

Thanks for that info...A friend of mine can get me a syvecs at a pretty good price so maybe I will go that route.
I'm sure I will be in touch for more info ,thanks again

Im using a link g4 + , its a plug and play unlike syvecs which would need quite a bit of loom adapting for the forester sti . i believe JT innovations have had a few goes at doing a loom adaption for Duncan graham or so he told me .
Im using it to run water/meth injection

With the Syvecs it really isn’t much work at all. I made my own loom at the cost of circa £40 and 20 mins of my time... Could possibly be a higher markup for Duncan on a Link hence making it out to be a lot harder than it really is; the good old tricks of the trade. 😂

I bought my link from Engine Tuner . The forester can be quirky to say the least its miss match of parts from the subaru parts bin.
I love your build thread btw.

👍🏻 Excellent ECUs, either way not very difficult to achieve what the Op is trying to do.

I know of a forester running a syvecs, not sure if it’s an sti or not though. At the end of the day it’s just wiring so anything can be made to work, i don’t see any reason why you couldn’t get a syvecs to work.

Spoke to engine tuner today (Who built the engine) and they have confirmed it can be done with a plug in link ECU and an AVCS lead from JT inovations.
basically what harry said yesterday (Thanks Harry) and the rest of you!
