Default 1997 Snapped ground cable (where does it go?)

Hi all,

Whilst attempting to fit a clutch return spring (please see other thread) I noticed a ground cable that has snapped near the engine pitch mount. Please see attached photo for location. Can anyone please tell me where the other side of this cable should go?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Cal

Onto the 10mm bolt on the pitch mount bracket. Your other thread it's not the return spring stopping your clutch pedal coming up make sure you bleed it properly

Cheers buddy, can u just confirm, is it on the engine side or firewall side pitch mount bracket?

I'm guessing my car did originally have a clutch return spring though? It's had 2 clutches in its life so has probably been lost (bracket too?)

Cheers,
Cal

Sorry that end is attached iirc the starter bolt but as long as its attached to the engine you'll be ok.

Over the past couple of weeks I have also had a quiet whining noise when I use anything electrical (like heater being on or using leccy windows etc). Could this be linked to the snapped ground cable? Surely it can't be a main ground! It's tiny.
Well today, my car was dead!! so put battery on charge all day, been out (with ground cable still not fixed) n when attempting to restart, the key didn't respond at first in ignition. It did start in the end, but radio had reset n alarm went wild (as if the battery had disconnected).
Are all these issues linked??
I don't know how old the battery is.
I can check n make sure the alternator is charging, what should a normal charging voltage be? (14ish v?)
Cheers guys,
Cal
