How to shift gears quicker?
Evening all I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how I can improve shifting times or hold gears longer I am trying to see how fast of a 0-60 I can get.
Currently I have to change to 3rd for 60mph as 2nd is topped out at around 56-57 mph any ideas to reach 60mph in the 6 speed?
I have about 420 bhp and have a 0-60 of around 4.2 seconds with LC and anti lag however I am sure if I didnt have to shift to 3rd I would be under 4 seconds to 60.

Have it mapped witb a higher rev limit. Your risk though.
The big question is why? 0-60 is an arbitary time selected by road testers decades back. In those days it was representative of everyday motoring. In these days of sub 3 second times, much less so. It makes no difference to how the car actually drives. I've seen a professional road tester go for a 0-60 time. It's horribly cruel and not something I would ever do to a road car.

Already have flat foot shifting mapped on but I am trying to not use it unless no other option.
With regards to the 0-60 I am trying to improve my 1/4 mile but Its very difficult to do that with santa pod closed and would like to avoid trouble from the local constabulary.
my car accelerates very rapidly after 60 to about 120ish for the 1/4 as I have grip then.

Why don’t you want to use flat shifting? It’s great and should improve your 1/4 mile time by around half a second!

Feel like the wear and tear with LC is immense but 1/2 a second sounds insane ill try it when the pod next opens up or someone invites me to a private road

any idea of a price range for having heads built to sustain the higher revs or better off just going to build a 2.1 stroker?

It all comes down to what spec you want to build to, what you want to rev to, what turbo you will be using etc. If it's going to be a road car, you don't really want all the power in the upper revs as you'll sacrifice lowdown torque. Likewise a track car never spends much time in the lower revs, so it's no good having a high torque engine that chokes in the higher revs.

If it's mapped properly there is no risk to the engine.
Obviously launching the car hard puts more load on the clutch and drivetrain than not doing so but a nicely setup LC can reduce that.
I've been using FFS for 7 years, LC for 9 years.
