Timing belt brands recommendations
Hi All, as above, looking at replacing cambelt and am seeing mainly Gates and Dayco brands (also Conti and Quinton Hazel) , and the occasional Subaru ones at nearly twice the price of the Gates and Dayco ones.
Is there any advantage in buying the genuine Subaru ones? Thanks in advance for your thoughts and recommendations!

Dayco is a different belt to Gates (although I am led to believe they are part of the same group these days??)
Gates supply the original Subaru belt but you would have no issue with either as both will be far more cost effective that the genuine factory belt whilst being 100% reliable

AFAIK all of the belts are basically Gates Racing manufactured and seeminlgy identical apart from colour variations - therefore we would normally supply the Gates Racing one inpreference being more cost effective generally
