Default Alternative new age rear boot lifters

Hi all,

One of the tension springs in my boot has snapped so now trying to get anything out of the boot is like fighting with an angry crocodile!! If you don't get limbs out of the way quick enough, you are going to lose something!
It got me wondering, is there an aftermarket option out there to add gas struts to open the boot?
Has anyone done this before?
Ian

Ebay lists various boot struts , maybe buy a cheap pair and have a play , i know people have converted other cars from the subaru bar to struts no reason the boot could not be the same
