Thumbs up UK 300 No 204 mileage issue!

Evening all,

Looking for some help please!

I`m trying to do a deal on a UK300 but there is an issue that both the buyer and I are aware of! The mileage on the previous MOT`s is inconsistent around 2011 to 2012. Not sure if its in KM`s at one entry then miles on another? But, why would this happen on a uk car?

The car is number 204 of 300. So I`m trying to track down any previous owners who may be able to shed some light on the problem?

Reg number is L30 DUK

Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated.

Regards

It's strange in that it went down then back up then down again. Which makes me think its had a clock swap or something. What clocks are in it now, are they std wrx clocks? Recent mot also mentions defective MIL engine light

Also advert back in 2016 mentions load of work done to it, then reversed for selling so I wonder did he stick original clocks back in or something then swapped out again

Hi

Many thanks for that!

Do you know the owner on here at the time this was advertised? Where was it advertised?

The car now has a bigger turbo, bigger injectors, front mounted intercooler etc. Its not running right and wont boost above 3500rpm! Its not been remapped so thats probably the reason! All parts there to put back to standard.

I like the car but dont want to inherit a headache!!

Its only 15 miles from me too!

we realised at this years MOT that for some bizarre reason the tester at last years test had entered a totally inconsistent mileage figure which was approx 40K miles less than the vehicle would have been showing.........apparently its now not able to be rectified as we should have notified the Tester within 4weeks or whatever for them to issue a correct certificate!!
its been in our ownership for around 15years and no plans to sell anytime soon so more frustrating than anything else.........
can only think they were testing various vehicles at the same time and mixed up the mileage??

It could be linked to the private plate,
if u go back through the history the mileage is higher,
I'll log into the MTS later and see if I can spot it

I took my car to Germany , when inspected in DE the specialist entered mileage as a Km , thereafter various testing stations / garages whatever they felt best on TUV certificates.
Occasionally the more observant ones managed to do the Math x 1.6 or make a note of "miles" on service invoices ,
The result is a service history that either looks like Scotty engaged warp speed or a H G Wells remake of Time Machine.

When I did my Brexit last year and got back home none of this was helped as DVLA managed to ignore the engine number changes but the MOT test station finally got the mileage right..
The old original block is now my dinghy mooring in the Hamoaze , so If I get to it before the corrosion I could still prove originality with the aid of a Aqualung.

I wouldn't worry to much about it , unless you have a totally original very low millage car or a 22B or driver history car. I don't think the market for the UK300 tuned cars worry too much,
Id be far more interested in the latest Dyno curve and how old the invoice for the last rebuilt engine is. Actually without the history Id suspect more or want to know what has not been changed.
I am on my 3rd block and have kept a spare recon WRX unit ready.
