Default Engine Management Light (EML)

Hey lads I hope your all well and your safe I need your help lads,
Currently having a problem with the Subaru Hawkeye 2.5 that I'm a bit confused about.

Was accelerating hard last week and the car cut at higher revs and the EML came on.
Luckily I had local garage to read the ECU and the fault code was P0244 (Wastegate control solenoid valve malfunction (high input) ).

They reckon it is due to having the car decatted both the down pipe and secondary catt removed and not had the car mapp yet?

What do you guys reckon?

Thanks lads

I would be staying off boost till it's been mapped if I were you. Even more so with it being 2.5.

Yeah it's hard to resist but better to cruise about for a month than wreak the engine.

the wrx can some times be ok with out a re map , the sti more than likely not, and will need a re map , cold weather will increase your boost levels any way , but either way , needs mapping for peace of mind and to gain from the mods , i expect no damage has been done

That’s right mate the fault went off as soon as it was cleared on the laptop and I’ve been driving it all day seems fine going to lock it away till I get it mapped now for my peace of mind
