Going back many years now, but this was a big no as the oil could contaminate the MAF.

the k and n ones , a very light oiling on just the correct side of the filter was thought to be ok , it was said people were oiling the wrong side and putting too much oil on it , and that’s what caused the maf issues , i suppose it’s weigh up the cost of a maf v higher wear on the engine , there are good filters out there that don’t need oiling , there was a test done the standard sti paper filter v the k and n panel filter and there was nothing in it , it’s more of a money saving exercise so you wash it rather than buy new each time , the filters need washing around 10 to 20 k miles not the suggested mileage

There is no mention of oil on the green filter website (apart from pre-oiled in a tag box) which is 7/8 years old and appears to be linked to Auto Inparts but most of the links from the page do not work.

http://www.greenfilters.co.uk/home.html

Maybe contact Auto Inparts and enquire about it.

Thanks Don and everyone else. Appreciate the i out. I have oiled the filter but will let it dry at room temperature for a month before fitting. That way any residue is hopefully removed
