Default Piston Identification

Hi All,

I have just received a used 'EJ205 V5 long block' pulled from a MY99 uk2000.

Stuck the borescope down to have a quick look at the cylinders and discovered the pistons below:

They have the marking HSB and three dots on the crown. Different from the normal EJ205 square recess pistons I have seen.

Before I start questioning the breaker who sold me the engine, can anyone identify these?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Long time since I have seen some of them, I would agree with them being Legacy turbo cast pistons of some sort.

Cheers for the responses guys.

Looks like a higher compression ratio then if thicker HG weren't used.

It was meant to be going into my 99 uk2000 ppp but i'm assuming it would be unwise to do that now? Did see a vid of the engine running in a classic.
