Hey guys this is my first post here ive recently got a deal on an 02 wrx and ive been working towards swapping a vf38 into it. ive had some questions about the needed downpipe for this setup any help would be much appreciated.

 

Hi mate why the vf38 turbo. It would be easier to swap a VF35 or 34 because they are single scroll like your stock td04 turbo that I assume is on your car. The vf38 is twin scroll and you will need to change headers, up pipe, down pip, sump and dip stick. However if you wanted to go twinscroll there are also other turbo options.

 

as above it’s a lot of work plus money to change to a twin scroll is it worth it ? other options are approach a tuner or turbo builder see what works best , maybe a hybrid turbo of some type or something off the shelf , what’s your reason to change it ? is it worth doing the parts around it like sports cat centre section delete up pipe cat delete , to get the best out of the turbo you already have , wrx 5 speed is a limiting factor when it comes to more power
