Forester Boxer Diesel (2011) - Buy or Avoid?
Hi All,
So I am looking at buying my first Forester. I need a jeep and I dont want to buy the usual boring crap. I also REALLY want a Subaru.
I am looking at one a 2011 Boxer Diesel in the link above the good points
The guys is willing to sell at £3500. Any thoughts would be very much appreciated to by this Subaru and Forester virgin.
Cheers Al

I highly doubt that is the original engine LOL.
Ive been looking for a cheap AWD estate for a while and always find quite a few newish Legacy diesels being sold for mega cheap money only to find in the description the engine is knackered. Usually around 120k miles six to eight years old.
So if the engine was replaced with a brand new one (not rebuilt or second hand), fairly recently, like 50k miles ago, you could be on to a winner, as there are plenty of other cheap spares or repairs Subaru diesels out there with no engine to fix the other worn out bits (gearbox, suspension interior etc).
If it's a second hand/rebuilt engine then you are in uncharted waters.
