Default Classic Fog Covers

Called up Subaru and they still do Classic Fog Covers. Price isn't too bad about £200 for both.

Does anyone know if there are any places online that sell genuine ones for cheaper, struggling to find them.

Looked at the HT Autos ones and they are a fraction of the cost. Do any of you guys have any experience with them, whats the quality like and how do they compare to genuine items.

Thanks

Thanks for that guys. I had seen most of the different aftermarket ones. But was unsure of the fitment. The HT Autos ones being ABS plastic were in my mind close to original. Looking at @Shane his look good fitment. Do you know how accurate they are to the originals. Seems really hard to tell from pics.

Even if I bought them from Subaru the colour would never match so either way will have to be painted. You can't deny the saving going aftermarket.

Do the original ones come painted with the brackets and stickers, as they never made the STI in red I'd never have been able to buy them ready to fit?

I think you'd struggle to tell the difference without taking them off and seeing there's no "Made in Japan" label or a Subaru Part Number. I fitted mine in 2014 and there's no sign of cracks or anything, brackets were stainless as were the mounting screws I used. Worth noting that if you currently have fog lights fitted, the crappy bit of tin behind the bumper that they mount to will probably disintegrate.

I'm not too sure about the stickers but they do come painted. The last two digits on the code is different depending on colour. The brackets have to be ordered separately. Bumper I'm thinking of using doesn't have anything in there at the moment and the fogs I have the tabs were broken off so will need to get some new fogs.

I'd still opt for plastic but as long as they last. I've had fibre glass stuff before and doesn't seem to last.

They are double the price but I was thinking of getting the plastic version. It could be the kits I've seen but for the most part I have been put off by fibreglass. They seem to be distorted, not talking about fitment but say the bodykit itself. A lot of extra prep work needs to go into them to make them look well non distorted lol. Again it could be the cheap Chinese copies I have seen etc. Most of the bath tubs in British homes are fibreglass and they look fine.

A mate of mine had a fibre reinforced plastic kit and that looks really good.

A question for @domino46 with no disrespect intended. On your rally car that was sold you had the Group A vents. Finished items looked very good and high quality but I remember seeing the ebay listing for them. They were obviously unprepped etc but they had that distorted look, it could have been the way the pictures were taken so did you notice that issue and how did you correct it. My memory is very bad so could be making this all up lol.
