If that's Christchurch in Hampshire you'll have all the neighbours beating you to death with their walking sticks

calling it a muffler sounds more like usa to me 😂 do a centre section silencer/cat delete first , i would expect a back box delete to be very loud and very droney ( new word &#128514 the centre section delete will be around 30 per cent louder plus helps flow , no re map needed

If you want to do a rear silencer delete cheaply without buying something off the shelf you could:

Buy a 30deg mandrel-bent tube in the correct diameter
Buy a straight piece of tube
Buy some solid bar

Put the bar through the rear exhaust hangars and do something to the ends to prevent it from slipping out, such as weld washers on the ends.

You can then:
Cut the existing one at the end of the straight section before the two 90deg bends
Tack on the 30deg bend so it ends pointing towards the exhaust cutout and under your hangar bar
Tack the straight bit to the end of the 30deg bend and the hangar bar

Then pull it all off and weld it up properly. A straight piece of tube and a bent piece of tube shouldn't be expensive. If you're dead-set on going deaf for the least amount of money, this is it.

Yea it's American, and just sounds wrong lol

Back box or rear silencer will do.

You don't need to do alot to make it loud and sound good at the same time. Resonator delete and/or decat and a backbox, even a cheap backbox like a japspeed will give the distinct subaru burble. I loved the combo of full decat with 3" de-resonated center and either a vortex backbox or raptor backbox. Or if you want ear bleeding loud then go for a blitz nur spec box
