A guy i know had an engine built by them or commision by them and it was a disaster, he had to threaten legal action to get his money back, he was so put off that he sold his impreza and bought a Nissan gtr.

Yeah keep away mate. Had a negative experience that might not put some people off and some who know them might say they are fine but I can't recommend them. I've had a few conversations with people who have dealt with them and all say never again.

ID personally travel and pay the cost to get any important work carried out by a respectable tuner....it’s a no brainier...if I was looking to buy a car that was worked on by engine tuner, Paul finch, scoobyclinic etc....it’s 1 green flag in a list of many when buying a older Subaru 👍👍 it’s a gamble buying our older cars now but you can help yourself by getting it worked on by proper garages and not someone who “maybe decent “ we all know the good ones that may charge a premium but it’s worth it 👍

Saj is great for nipping in and buying the odd part off and some of his second hand spares are good but expensive, i bought my long runner manifold from him.
But for serious work id recommend Stuart in Berwick for any one in the south east.

I've only used them for things like a JDM quick rack and some hubs but they threw in some extra stuff FOC, got them out next day despite a 4pm phone call and everything was spot on. Obviously this isn't the same as what their workmanship is like but I'd gladly use them again. I thought their prices were more than reasonable given the condition of the parts. If you want rusty prices then get rusty parts from elsewhere!

My Blobeye i purchased has an extensive invoice history with japperformanceparts around £4000 spent with them. Suspension parts, engine parts etc, it had the cambelt and waterpump changed by them too, only problem is when i bought it and removed the covers the cam guides werent gapped correctly and were left touching the belt on one camshaft..

They are expensive (not the most expensive) but might not seem it with current ebay prices. Ebay is wild now lol

But having said that in the Midlands we have the likes of Matty who is very reasonable with prices and in a lot of instances is the cheapest around. I've picked up quite a few bits from him and I would say they are far better quality than a lot of stuff being sold as quality.

Hi Guys, I have always found they are great to deal with and very helpfully. The truth is with Subaru's you need the money to spend on them.... Most people arent willing to do this meaning you will not get a high end parts for their car meaning they my use second hand parts and things go wrong....You always have to remember Racing parts arent guaranteed due to the stress the parts are under..... You welcome

I believe he did but like i said he had to threaten legal action, as we all know the cost didnt stop there because he had to remove and re-fit the engine, he fitted a new short block from alyn in the end and sold up.

I completely understand mate, I’m quite lucky in the fact I’ve got a trusted Subaru specialist to do my work. I’ve been using him for 10 years, got to know him and he’s a great honest guy which puts my mind completely at rest when leaving my car with him for periods of time. Scoobyclinic aswell have been great to me so I will use them again in the future.

Shame like we don't really trust anyone working on our car like had a bad experience with indigo-gt which was a shame as they are 10 minutes up the road

yep scr do charge a premium, if I need engine work plus abit of paintwork I like the fact they do everything there so don’t mind paying the extra. When it comes to what you want doing then yeah they will probably charge more than most and I’ve never spent that much money in one go. Good luck mate 👍
