Intercooler spray issue - 2005 STI
Hi all. Had my STI nearly 5 years now and the IC spray has never worked. Thought it’s about time I got that sorted
Motor runs when I hit the button (or at least it sounds like it does) boot reservoir full, no obvious blockages in the tubing as far as I can see.
Any common areas to look for before I start doing a bit more thorough trouble shooting?!
Thanks in advance.

Is it perhaps the tubing is pinching somewhere on the passenger side suspension turret when bonnet is closed?
Have you tried using it with the bonnet open?
Can you pull off the tubing at the IC end and see water coming out? If so, must be the actual nipple that may be blocked with hard water deposits?

Mine does the same although it just squirts a stream rather than a spray. I soaked the nozzle in cleaner but no joy. I suspect the pump is done, it still "works" just not at full power.
if u end up working at the pump, let me know how easy it would be to work at/ replace as I cant be bothered if it's going to be difficult!

There "appears" to be a NRV in the line marked in yellow

Thanks for the responses all. I've managed to sort it!. The fix was highly technical and I wouldn't recommend anyone other than a trained Subaru mechanic carrying it out.
I pulled the nozzle off at the bonnet end and sucked on the pipe as hard as I could. Felt something clear and voila, working IC spray. Really should have tried that before posting *hangs head in shame*
Now to get back to never using it for the next 5 years.
Thanks again.
