Hi peeps I’m looking for a hatch engine under tray to suit a 09 wrx-s, im just wondering
would a undertray from a sti Same year be the same fitment… I’m just concerned as the sti
has a wide body and the wrx-s dose not so Unsure if fitment is the same.
Is their a specific reason for you wanting an undertray ? Obviously you won't find it easy after to spot any potential oil or coolant leaks etc, and the engine bay won't be as cool.

The engine under tray is an integral part of the floor arrangement
1) it keeps the majority of water away from the engine - especially if you have to drive through standing water.
2) it helps maintain linear air flow through the radiator, a/c condenser and around the engine.
3) In conjunction with the gearbox tray and other under floor add ons (MY11 onwards) the venturi effect produced by the under floor flow improves the air flow out of the intercooler....
Hot air can escape from the engine bay via slots near the top of the wings and then out through the vents in front of the doors
It's not the "listed part number" but is probably the production part number for the main plastic moulding without applied heat shield material (oil soakup) and smaller covers etc.
The listed part number would only appear on the parts tag label.
If you look at the third image (with magnifier) in this ebay add for a new "56410AG005" - you will see that the plasic moulding part has part number 56440AG000
Have you bought it yet? If not give me an hour or 2 and I might have one you can have for £10 + postage. I'll just have to check it is right for you as I'm going from memory. I bought one cheap for my blobeye but its clearly not for a blobeye and looks very much like one of Don's images.
@Don Clark thanks Don looking at the pic of the one I’ve bought
verses the one I need I’m quietly optimistic it’s the right one so I’ve got my fingers
crossed I’m hoping it’s going to arrive tomorrow…
now …. On to my next part to find sort of related but I need to find a driver side wheel arch liner I
thought icp sold them but as it turns out the sti and wrx are different
so as it stands icp said I need
part Number 59110fg002 Which they don’t supply.
I am finding impossible to find, this is pretty much the last piece of the
puzzle I really needed it for tomorrow but that isn’t gonna happen now as t he car is been
mapped on Thursday and wanted it ready for then if you know of where bet to try locate One or if you
have any thoughts pls let me know.
I'm toying with putting an under tray on mine, it will probably have to be modded at the front with a dremmel as ive got a FMIC. The main reason for me wanting to fit one is my exhaust pipes have lagging on them, when it gets wet you get steam from them.
Don, ive been offered a brand new one, he wants £90 for it, part number 56440AG002, from what i've read above, firstly does that fit an 08 Sti hatch, and if i read right is it just the bare skin plastic shell with no oil pad, can the oil pad be bought separate ?

56440AG002 is an "internal to Subaru" part number for the plastic moulding only. The undertray assembly is then built up with the other items and becomes 56410AG005 (latest part number)
As 56440AG002 is moulded into the plastic this is the part number "most" parts sellers will quote as the 56410AG005 number would only appear on the oem packaging.
Same with turbos - the part number on the turbo will not correspond with the Subaru parts database listed part number as the turbos supplied via Subaru come complete with all the added pipework shown below
