Default Fitting a 3 port boost Solenoid, could someone help with it.

Im having my car mapped with Bob next week, i need to fit a fit a 3 port boost solenoid on before its mapped as my car which is on 08 Sti hatch, 2.5 UK only has the 2 port boost solenoid currently. I plan to drive down to where its being mapped and fit it on the day as it could cause problems if i do it before hand, its a 1hr 40 ish drive as well.

Ive put pics below of my current 2 port and the RCM 3 port one, ive also bought new 4mm internal diameter silicone hose. Could someone do me a favour, could you mark from me on the photos if you know, which pipe goes to which nipple on the RCM one, like put an A on one of the current pipes and an arrow with an A on showing which one it connects too on the RCM one.

Thanks

There's more to it than that you need to remove the T piece off the turbo that goes to the actuator and also to the BCS and replace it with one pipe with no restrictor pill in it from the turbo to the inlet port on the BCS and then run a pipe to the actuator from the BCS outlet port.. The other can be vented to atmosphere or re piped into the large turbo inlet hose. It is a simple job and can be done in ten minutes get Bob to do it before mapping but he doesn't like getting his hands dirty.

Thanks Joe, i had a feeling it wouldn't be a simple case of just popping a few pipes on, i guess it is but a little more to it than i originally thought. I'm one of those, once ive done something once im usually ok the next time, its just this is all new to me, things like restrictor pills, can you get them from the chemist as i need to go their later

Shows where the pill would have been.

That's why it's going to Bob to be mapped to hopefully be set up as it should be, the previous mapper was someone called Duncan Graham, apparently the graph doesn't look very good, it looks very laggy and not as it should be for what the car is running. Ive a lot to do with the car, ive not had it long so this is the first step to me putting the car on the right path with having Bob map it, the priority was to get it mapped first, then move onto a few paint issues that need to be corrected,. I've got a bit of learning to do along the way as Subaru's again is all new to me so i'm going to try and be as hands on as i can, you tend to learn quicker that way and listen to other peoples opinions and advice that know more than i do.

Is the boost Solenoid supposed to sit on the inlet manifold like this, it's how it was when i got it after removing the perrin boost solenoid cover. If not where are other peoples located on a Sti hatch ?

It just looks odd, lying on the inlet manifold, you wouldn't call it the best attention to detail from Subaru lol. I like to keep things tidy, secure. I'm sure over time when i've more knowledge of these i can find somewhere a bit better, and neater for it.

Getting the 3 port to sit nicely in place of the 2 port will be your next issue

I'm learning, from what ive seen so far on these hatches you need to be creative at times and think of other options.

That's why there is a cover over it to which it is attached with a bolt. (Perrin cover has the bolt and locating tab holes)
