Caught Speeding on M1 Yesterday

My license was just clean following a GATSO in 1997. So only 3 points at the moment.
The copper did have a nice attitude though, which surprised me. He congratulated me on having a clean license and said "Don't Let It Spoil Your Day". I did ask if he would let me off with a warning, but he refused due to it being 22mph over the speed limit.
Cheers.

Well, I've had my new Scoob 3 weeks and already caught at 92mph and a fixed penalty £60. I guess I was lucky, he said 95mph and I would be going to court. 100mph is a ban I believe.
The ironic thing is, I wasn't in the Scoob. There is a lesson to be learned here. When driving something less conspicuous still keep a look out for the old bill. I probably wouldn't have been caught in the Scoob.
I know a lot of you will say it serves me right, and I shouldn't have been going that fast, and you're probably right. But you live and learn.
Cheers

letdown,
I think you're being a little unfair. The only time I've seen the 'BBS Police' have a go is when people complain about being caught doing something stupid, like 60 in a 30 etc.
I was equally peed off when I received my first ever ticket a couple of weeks ago for doing 78 in a 60. Whilst my first reaction was anger, as it's a perfectly clear, straight, piece of road with no history of accidents, the fact remains that I was exceeding the limit. Simple.
However, like most people I do feel that Northants Police in particular have really lost the plot. Whilst I'm very fastidious about limits of 50 or lower, I have yet to see one of their camera vans anywhere near any of the villages I drive through. All pretence of the cameras being anything other than revenue based went out of the window months ago.
