Default Driveshaft heat shields

As above , there appear to be two types of after market heat shields , one for the turbo side driveshaft cv boot , and one for the exhaust side rear diff driveshaft cv boot , are they actually needed ? Any actual benefits ? I’ve never had a known issue , on two occasions I’ve changed a turbo side cv boot , but I expect failure was more likely accidental damage rather than specific failure , any thoughts please 👍

Forgot to mention , both downpipes are sports cats , cars been mapped so probably produces a bit more heat 👍

I wondered about these when I saw a cusco one. The heat from the exhaust speeds up the rate in which the cv boot perishes.

Yes they do a front and rear one , but quite ££ for a piece of shaped metal , i did not even think about the rear cv boot being an issue , i was thinking of wrapping the other downpipe as ones wrapped already , and like wise wrap the exhaust section near the rear diff , as it does drop temps a lot , or is it a case of solving an issue that does not really exist ? 👍

My slight concern is undoing bolts on the gearbox to put the bracket on , is there a risk of a leak ? And if it’s not an issue , easy enough to make up a bracket , hedgecutter you not going to fit yours , too much of a fiddle or feeling limited benefit ?

I will fit it, but I've accumulated so many parts that id forgotten i had it. My criteria is that it mustn't weigh too much!
