ej205 turbo charger - smoke (video)
Guys,
First time I saw smoke from the turbocharger area on my ej205 today.
I was driving on the highway and found the smoke coming out from the scoop, stopped and this is what I found:
What it could be? What should I check and fix in such a situation? Have 0 previous experience with turbochargers.
Thank you!
PS:
My car got the front diff bearings replaced last week and the exhaust was removed to be able to remove the transmission. Image below made when the exhaust pipe was removed.
Could not proper assembling be the cause or the root problem is deeper?

If it was me then take it back to who worked on the car , it could be a nut not tight enough in the turbo coolant or oil leaking , or the underneath oil out pipe of the turbo not sitting correctly ? My last issue around this was the cv gaiter got damaged and kicking grease on to the down pipe , but as above if they have done this gearbox work surely it’s on them 👍
