Default 1999 Subaru Impreza uk turbo 2000 fault please help.

Hi can anyone help.

I can’t see if the attachment has uploaded, hopefully it has.

its a short video of my engine at idol, if you can call it that you should be able to hear it’s popping from the air box and exhaust.

I have cleaned the injectors replaced plugs and I am waiting on new ignition leads.

unfortunately I can’t check the engine codes at the moment as there is a faulty wire to the connector in the car.

Uploaded the vid again hopefully this time it will be on.

yes the single socket under the dash has a loose wire/connection that is stopping the Obdi connecting probably need an outlet electrician for that.

the engine is idling rough with loud pops from the exhaust and also from the air box could it be as simple as the ignition leads?.

Not OBD I mean using the onboard connectors under the dash.........more likely to be a plug or exhaust fault than leads??

Just to confirm Stockcar's reply, UK Subaru's were not OBD compatible (EOBD variant) before Model Year 2001 (MY01) in late 2000 although they do use an OBD compatible socket for "Subaru Select Monitor" (SSM) diagnostics connection.
"Home" diagnostics done using the plugs as shown in the video.

Confirmed on Don_Clark's reply as well, the OBD is practically useless unless you have the specific tool for it.

Might be a dodgy MAF sensor, did you ever check the codes in the end?

Pro tip, film the morse code readout and then transcribe it after from the video so you can pause and rewind as it's deadly fast!
