Default Is the used car market dead. Struggling to sell on my jdm hatch

I am selling on my jdm hatch as I need a van for work. I’ve spent a lot on it in a short space of time but getting no interest or low ball offers from eBay. Where would people recommend listing or should I hold off until spring/ summer time? Seems eBay is a waste of time now adays

thanks

induction kit
rcm tgv deletes
parallel fuel rail and fpr
injector dynamic 1050cc injectors

perrin top mount
decat downpipe
invidia q300 cat back
new ps4 tyres and wheel refurb
new discs and pads ds2500
pioneer da160
lanoguard seal
ceramic coated
zun sport lower grill

probably more I’ve forgot. It’s only on 68k and now running 400bhp at 1.45 bar

Niche car and you have done a lot of expensive mods.
I bought mine for 13k did maybe 1500 quid on exhaust and remap and fuel pump.
Sold for 11k a year or so ago.
Only really had one guy interested and he still kept offering 10k but I just held out as I knew it was worth it.
Had 67k I think.
Mine was on eBay maybe 3 times at 10 days each.
You will sell so best not to worry that it won't.
Have you asked the likes of torque GT or the other importer Simon I think 🤔 what they would offer?
How much are you spending on a van?

Cars seem to be a bit like crypto currency, one minute worth loads next no one wants them.
annoyingly your never going to get your money back on the mods especially if you paid full price for all the bits.

I know what you mean. With buying the car I’m at 30k with it. I was wanting 20 really. I realise the market has dropped so would have taken 18 but the market is just crap. I suppose someone wanting one and to go down the same route it would save them money in the long run.

Just checked on eBay and there's loads on there compared to a year ago when I sold mine.
was literally 3 or 4 JDM and mine at the time was the best of the bunch.
Where have they all come from.......

100% agree for selling cars. It's expensive, annoying and not successful.

I would try a professional looking advert on Autotrader - I've never failed to sell within a couple of weeks.

BUT, this is the worst time of year to sell anything a bit specialised and people are expecting bargains. Try in mid-March.

I think you’re right. Will give it a few months and list elsewhere.

In my self employed experience, no one buys much between November and March. Also insurance has risen massively. Alot of cheap GRBs are being imported now. A 34k mile R205 sold for under 24k recently in UK. Modifications generally aren't price recoverable, and put most new buyers off, however valid they are. Wait till the spring, and hope import costs rise due to Red Sea shenanigans

r205 only hatch i would like to owe
Loan rates are to high at a minute , fuel costs and ulez zone does not help either plus higher tax if ulez free.
Doubt prices will rise again before 2030 ,gov. will kill a market rising road and fuel tax in favour for electrics.

It would be nice but I have my suspicions that it's only based on the very high value cars that went through auction in 1 month only.
So a couple of 22b etc or a few mint P1s over £50k in Dec 23 would look really good against sales of a couple of RB5s in Dec 22...
Still, it raises interest in emerging classics, which is definitely a good thing !

I periodically check the classifieds ... 2 years ago, there was plenty of JDM GC8s around for 10k ... I nearly bought a type R for the 8k but had just bought a blobeye sti. Plenty of Turbo 2000 around 3k.

Now I see a lot less cars advertised ... the JDMs are near 20k or more. The turbo 2000s - 3k for a project , 8k for high miler . Anything between, some 10k.
Few good but early WRXs around but ppl want facelift.

Plus an old subaru will likely need work .... expensive work .... are they really worth the cost and hassle ?
A turn off if not investment grade !

Seems plenty of activity in Hawkeye+ cars,

Wagons and Forrester arguably better than saloon gc8, but niche ...your car will sell just bad timing, dark days, cash tight . Just wait.

The prices have deffo tailed off but i think they'll pick up again once the better weather arrives and people want sports cars again.
