I would suggest that maybe you don't want to answer this for exactly Christian's reasoning. Paranoid? Me?

Each alarm has weak points, but your choice is wise

Cool

I have voice reconition software in my car, so when i say the appropiate word, it activates the car, and starts the engine. cool eh?

However, if anyone else tries to get in and says a word, it does start!! BUT after being driven for 1mile it explodes

Peter
To be honest I can input a name and area into a phone search engine and come up with a list of addresses that match with that name - if i wanted to knick a car and i had the name, address and alarm type it would really help.

A lot of Scoobs are knicked by some determined villians who will break into your home and knick your keys from you under duress. i will not make it any easier for them in any way shape or form

People are not usually too keen to post their details and i would like to keep thieving scum guessing. Peter, that is in no way directed at you - car thieves you know who you are.

Sony alarm.

Goes off 6:45am on weekdays but not at all at weekends.

Touch sensitive controls with battery back up.

Peter, you would have been better getting the turbo timer rather than the remote start, the turbo timer is a more viable option on an impreza and i also think you probably paid too much for your system unless you have remote boot release, 4 window closure etc etc.

The turbo timer is standard on this alarm! It stays tickin over whilst also alarming the vehicle

You will probably find that you dont have ALL the extras, remote lights for instance, its not impossible to fit but its also not a good idea either.... ask your clifford dealer why! as for turbo timer and remote start... i also believe that you can only have one or the other as they both use the same button on the keyfob.
The remote boot release is good thou and your going to curse the anti hijack for the first few days until you get use to it.

Due to your questions, Ive asked and it uses a turbo timer which keeps the engine running for a range of minutes (0-20) then turns it off. Then When the button is pressed again the car starts and then after another press the doors unlock??

Any more queries>??

Seems odd to be coy about the alarm type when you've got stickers on your side windows. That said, you've got me worried now. Anyway mines got a big red bell on the roof - good visual deterrent and makesa great DERRRRIIIINNNNGGGGGG!!!!!!! when it goes off.

Im still puzzled by your alarm, mine definately doesnt work that way!!!
When fitted with a turbo timer one push when the car has halted (you hear the relay click) sets the timer for up to 2 mins, one push when the car is off turns the ignition on but thats it, the position that the remote start takes up is now taken up by the turbo timer as its an option on the car and not a standard feature (not all cars have turbo timers). Pressing a 3rd time really baffles me as the button next to it opens the doors and disables the alarm, if you pressed 3 times then open the doors wouldnt the alarm go off????
You will have to have a play with it when you get your car back but i think someone is telling you porkies here

This thread made me wonder if there are only 5, 25 or 50+ car thieves monitoring this bbs ...

Maybe 2 of them have ISP problems ( ) but I'm pretty sure the rest of them get through nice & easy.

So maybe it may be better - mostly - to not actually answer the question.

Theo

PS: there is also a security related forum I would have thought ?

Mine doesn't work like that either. However I do have Turbo Timer, Remote Start, and can shut front & rear windows independently. I don't want to give the game away but Cliffords seem to have an awful lot of programmable buttons
