Running without an undertray
Firstly, Alyn....thank you again for your advice on the crush washer earlier today on the phone. Oil change went well
Ok so whilst changing my oil and filter today, I realised how bad my U cradle giant horseshoe is. In one area near the OSF corner it's totally shot with rust.
I have left the undertray off for now, do any / many people run without undertrays for a while / long time with no issues?
I will put the undertray back after I've sourced a second hand decent U cradle. New genuine ones look to be silly money, and I don't know if anyone does aftermarket new ones anymore / if ever?

15 years without a under tray or U frame,
The sti`s have a little brace that you can invert to still use the brace.
Dont waste 160 quid on a ALK, just use that money to poly bush the front arms, and rear trailing arms.

Id honestly say 99.9% of subaru owners cant tell if they have a ALK from a poly bush, and the cost difference is high just for the ALK imho,
As a none tracked car Id go for more poly and full geo over the cost of the ALK, replacing the key bushes in the front arms alone would be more benefit that ALK and rest on old rubber again imho,
Also the saving over the ALK would allow for at least rear trailing arms being done as well, and that Does help with handling in corners at enthusiastic speeds, and braking feel, as it gets rid of that rear wobble
Not a dig at anyone who has purchased one, its your money and your choice, but I was giving genuine advice from a long time of helping people with scoobs,
The rear lockout bolts make the rear feel better but its not "advised" to run these all the time, again Ive had no issues, and anyone who knows me know I drive the car hard, inc tracking,
If budget was no object then we would be adding more braces as that has helped a few guys Ive fitted them for,
But getting rid of any old rubber on any performance car is always my first path.
