Reading the ECU

You don't need any tools for the basic check.
Revisit the site, all the info should be there. If there is anything you are not sure about, post again and I'll get back to you.
It's the CHECK ENGINE lamp on the dash that flashes the code when you connect the green jumpers and turn on the igintion.(Jumpers located behind dash, drivers side. Rest your head on the brake pedal and look up towards the steering column.) Two long flashes followed by three short flashes is error code 23 (MAF sensor) for example. Are you having any problems with your car at the moment or just curious?

After taking the car to bits and putting it back together, it turns out that the ECU is reading a problem with the MAF sensor!
