a bit sad there was no 'Big One' artical! (Mikey!!!) maybe next time!....seeing that it was the biggest meet of scoobs together (no track day).

I believe a collegue of mine submitted an article and has not been published!!!! (it might be in the next one I suppose) Overall not impressed at what we are getting for our money. With respect Gentlemen, unless people submit stuff then that's what we'll get every issue.

Although I would confess to being more than a little disappointed with this issue, it's the first time True Grip in it's current form has been less than excellent.

Most of the regular contributors, myself included, have tried to encourage people to submit articles pictures and ideas, but it's obviously not happening. If members want to see articles on certain subjects, then they need to suggest them.

I know people complain when they're articles are not published, but they do have to be of a reasonable quality, and of potential interest to enough members.

Hear Hear.

TG is our magazine. We get out what we put in, it's as simple as that.

I have to laugh when I read some of the comments on here. They truly are daft.

Graham has been crying out for articles. He's thinking of selling a lung to pay for articles

The SIDC is *your* club. The magazine is *your* magazine.

If you have an idea for an article then write in and let us know. Better still write an article.

Sometimes I really do wonder. As Graham said recently "its a thankless task".

Of all the countless emails we get none of them are ideas for the club. My favourite moans are of the type "Hey I paid for my membership online 10 minutes ago and I've still not received anything".

So..club members..ask yourself what *you* could do to improve your club. We welcome all suggestions and input.

Please please act now before Graham sells his body :-)

I was on the committe of my local motor club, and wrote the club magazine for a while. I know how hard it is to put a quarterly / monthly magazine together that represents a club and all its members.

The only regular contribution I got was from a autistic guy who wrote about every event he did as a navigator (including stage rallying!!!!!)

It takes time and thought to write an article, all it takes to critasise is time..... not that much difference really. If everybody who complained about an amature, contribution magazine acutually wrote an article at least they would be saying something about the club that they belong to. A magazine 'can' say bad as well as good about the club it represents.

By the way I don't receive the mag as I don't subscribe to the SIDC, but I do know how hard the ditors job is.. Remeber this guy does other things as well, like work, live, and drive his scooby..

(Edited to say, the mag I wrote was spell checked, which this isn't)

What sort of articles do people want to see? Perhaps the committee/publishers could suggest some topics for people to submit articles on?

I don't mind writing -- but I don't see the point wasting my time writing an article that's going to be of no interest (and I can't think of anything I know about Scoobs either) or not published. At least some pointers would get people thinking and/or started.

Maybe introduce some articles that are shorter? I've tried a few different types of tyres, for example, but not enough to fill a page.

Don't even bother to try and waste your precious time arguing with Stephen Emery about the SIDC.....for some reason his head appears to be so far up his ar$e about the SIDC he can see his tonsils

Of course, the whingers never get involved to try and change it, or offer help, or contribute - sitting moaning about it is far more satisfactory. If they realised just how much work was put in by the committee, free, to run the SIDC....

The same must apply to anyone - if you don't like the SIDC, don't join it - nobody is holding a gun to your head...if you are a member, and don't like it, do something *positive* to change it.......

Cool

i work in an business that also deals with the public. and all i receive is complaints (up to 4 per week) but i am the contact for over 4500 people (so thats not so bad) i am so glad that members want to push things forward with all the posative comments, Lets be honest that's what complaints are. I read a secondhand copy (as i can't get my act together) and i find it a bonus to see where i can upgrade and fix my car Seems to me that loads of adverts means a bigger scean and benefits for all of us, time for true grip to become a bigger mag?????
*Anyone who has a problem paying a 20ish quid membership fee meet me down the pub as i could lose this on a night out and not be that bothered* so i would be more than happy to spend it on a beer for you

Question

Just out of curiosity, who drew the 'map' for Donnington?

It would seem from the drawing that the track layout has changed quite a lot in the last 3 months...the pit straight and craner's curve have disapeared and a lot of trees have been planted :rollyes:

Sorry, but I think anyone going to Donno for the first time based on that map is in for a big shock!
