hi guys. just joined this site today. real good site. im looking for some help. i want to get an impreza turbo but am not sure what to go for. i work part time as a mobile dj so i thought i would have to go for a station wagon but would also be happy with a 4 door to. uk spec would again be nice but not essential. if you had a limit of £12000 to get a car what would you go for? any help you can give me would be great. iain macleod

Welcome ![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Your looking at a uk spec MY99 for that sort of cash, an MY98 from a dealer, an STi Version 4 and maybe possably an STi5 with a few miles on it.
Check out www.sidc.co.uk for all the specs etc then check out some of these sites![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
www.warrender.co.uk
www.litimports.co.uk
www.park-lane.co.uk
There are probably more but i dont quite know them off by hand.
Also check to make sure the insurance wont kill you and find out about servicing etc, 2 times per year or 7.5k whichever first (6 month intervals basically) of which one will be cheap and one wont![Frown](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)

Riftzone....
The guy said he was a part time DJ ... Not bank robber!
Dealer prices out our way (Scotland) are a total joke..... No offence to you Riftzone, but although he will get a warranty surely it doesn't make sense for him to pay a possible extra 3k, when privately he would get a my99 with phase 2 engine and less chance of clutch judder etc!
Just my opinion in relation to what I see as scary dealer prices at the moment.
If someone is that worried about the car's big bits going then they could easily take out another years extended Subaru warranty from their dealer at around £500.
Don't mean to hijack Ian's thread just wouldn't want to see someone ripped off big time when there are plenty good FSSH scoobs going privately for so much less dosh.

No, no, go to the dealer, go to the dealer.
<whisper> Sipie, one less person competing from MY99's locally in the £12k range <whisper>![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
No, seriously though: dealers in Scotland are having a laugh, go private and good luck
