I believe the timing belts do age regardless of milage, however you do have a point.
How many netters have their Scoob serviced every 6 months regardless of milage?

Same as the 30k me thinks. Be prepared to pay any thing up to £450. If the previous owner has had the service done every 6 months it possibly will be up to the 105k in the service book. If this is the case the cambelt should have been changed in the last 18 months.

Wot sort of a rip-off is it to insist that a car has a 7500 mile service every 6 months, even though it may only have covered 3000 miles?
Are Subaru (and others) really trying to get us to believe that bits like cam-belt etc wear out over time w/o being driven?
Buulllsheeeit! We're being conned.

Buy the car, pay the price...
So what happens if you have a car that has 10k service intervals and you only do 4k in one year? do you leave it until it reaches 10k which could be 2.5yrs down the line? nope me thinks not![EEK!](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/eek.gif)
You look after your car, your car will (hopefully!) look after you![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Oh should have said that rubber does actually degrade over time
Tyres only have a life of 10yrs, even if they are not used, something to do with the lubricants in them?

Wife does 4k a year max in the scoob. I get it at least oil and filter changed every six months. 2k on good oil should see it last. Its a 96 P with just 52k now, having had 46k and the 45k service done f.o.c when I bought it 2 years ago.
Id NEVER leave it 18 months before another service.
