Article says "super hot wrx" next generation Impreza...launch in japan may and uk sale end of 2000. 280bhp and sub 30K saloon only 4 dr...260lb-ft torque from 2ltr flat 4...6 cog box with longer gearing. engine is new despite same bore/strke as outgoing engine...multi link rear set up.

Looks like it could be a scaled down version of the Legacy, says it uses a shortened Legacy floorpan. Wheel arches look quite impressive. But since I have a MY99 I'll let others try it and give their views before I feel the need to buy one.

I thought it a bit understated. Maybe the arches could be wider/more aggressive.

I like the subtle rear spoiler, though.

If there's anything that shouts 'Race Me' at the traffic lights, it's a silly rear wing.

MY2001 will be end of 2000, November time, if previous years have been anything to go by. Still havent managed to get out an get a copy though

what i understood from the article is the standard 218bhp ( new engine but the same bore and stroke ) will be released before the end of 2000. however the wrx ( type approved version) will not be released until the end of 2001.
this article have just got me even more frustrated. my MY99 and is starting to feel slow. and i don't know whether to modify and maybe loose some of the resale value of the car or wait and buy a faster one STI6 Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
