No Slicks Bummer...
Not even grooved tarmac spec rally tyres? It's not a grip thing, just a cost and availability thing!
S02's no longer being available I'm loath to wreck the last set I've got, but my track tyres - lovely slippy things that they are - just ask my passengers from Donno yesterday - all 4 tyres spinning away out to the Melbourne hairpin - I don't worry about...
They've got wearbars and 17% minimum tread...
Failing that anyone feel like lending me some road legal 'track' tyres for 16" scoob rims

From "previous" experience, in a scoob, you're possibly better off with a little bit of slip under full load Ran Alconbury in the wet & it appeared that the scoobs AWD system needed a little bit of loss to work at its best
As I haven't a hope in a straight line, I'll be running r/legal SO2s that are track tyres (for me) with the hope that it rains for the speed tests & are OK either way for the handling..

last few places- form is on http://www.trackdayplus.com
all details on how to pay etc etc on form, email me when sent off with chq.
latest list as of today:
MARK AIGIN
MICHAEL WHITE
JAMES HOLT
SIMON BURTON
CHRIS KING
JOHN FELSTEAD
TIM WHITESIDE
i would have room for additional cars, if need be, but we wont be running more than 80 cars total on the day.
tyres- you are all prob better on road tyres with slip anyway, elvington is extremely grippy in dry, you might break cluthc/transmission on launch on slicks if its dry!
i would recommend you do not turn up on new tyres with loads of tread if wanting to thrash it on handling cct. part worn or similar are much better. ( i killed a new set of yoko A539s fronts in two sessions there due to tyre roll/heat)
other than that i'm sure you will enjoy it. the handling course cant be as good as say donnington, its too flat, and we dont have 2 miles of space for track, but it should be challenging and fun against the clock, plus spectators watching etc, and you will be filmed externally and in-car.
(you will become the stars of the video!)
then the video/dvd will have split screen timed laps with cars showing difference in technique, times etc.
in addition you can also have a crack at head to head 1/4s, 1/2 mile times and the speed runs.
the list of entrants is on the website, i have seen all the spec sheets and there are some fantastic cars to watch out for!
(in addition to some sleepers!)
email me if wanting to come and take part asap
