ok, as the title suggests.
i would like to know about this paticular type of speed trap.
![](http://upload.turbosport.co.uk/getpic.asp?File=2002761931339577.jpg)
can they detect speed in both directions?
eg. cam is set up to get traffic passing the van 1st and then the camera, but can it get you travelling towards it?
and do they identify driver or just record speed?
[edited to add question]
thanks
dave.

the reason I ask is that's where I tested my euro550 out for the first time to check the distances out, worked great

Not true anymore, Truvello cameras look similar to normal Gatsos, but are forward facing with a round, purple lense that houses an infa-red flash.
These cameras catch the reg number, tax disc and the identity of the driver.
They are also rumble strip activated and cannot be picked up by standard radar detectors.
This type of camera is the future of gatsos and I believe they are working on retro fitting these features into older gatsos too

(6 points on his licence, wondering why they paint gatsos yellow but still "snap" you from behind bus stops, up trees, from 1.35 miles away utilising "average speed calculations" etc.....barstewards )

Who will be the first to market -
- Laser / Radar Detector
- GPS locator (Morpheous style)
All in one ??
Cos let's face it one part only gives partial cover.
The SPECS ones are the ones that really P*ss me off. If you think about it, they could logically have these placed all the way up the motorway (in time) at 2 mile gaps and you'd have to stick exactly to the limit, whatever the traffic conditions.

Don't forget though, the saving grace is that for every inventor of a new speed capture device gadget, their will be a company who will have more money, better engineers etc to create a detection device to beat it.....thank god.
Yes it's at our expense...such is life unfortunatly.
I have nothing against speed cameras outside the appropriate places, but it's beyond a joke now & is blatently taking the pi55.
& yes I also think that one company will provide a combo device that will do the lot, but I think that they are waiting to defeat the specs digital trickery first![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
