That is nasty, i hate hearing things like that. The other day a mate of mine opened my door when i was in traffic, scared the **** out of me. If it was real and not just a joke, wow.
Anyway hope everyone is ok in the scooby, the RS boys are sympathysing too.

Have just heard on local radio that a Blue Impreza was stolen from it's owner on the A3 just outside Guildford in an "incident" with a white RS Turbo. Don't know anymore than that but hope the occupants of the Scoob are all ok.

Just heard this from a friend too, who was letting me know it wasn't him. Apparently it was a P1 and it was hit/clipped by the RST. So the P1 driver pulls over to get insurance details and the ******* bugger off in his car. Yet another reminder to be careful out there.

I hope the occupants of the P1 are OK.
Scum like this should be locked away for a long time doing hard labour, sadly not a likely outcome.
I carry my own 'personal defence' kit for just such an emergency. I would think nothing of defending myself, my friends and family and my property with it.It would be a pleasure!
The Police seem stretched to the limit, the law is biased towards the criminal and it is decent law abiding people who suffer. If this was a movie plot you would think it a work of fiction.
This makes me sick!

Seriously bad news esp to the driver
All i can add is that with a car like ours you need an anti hijack system, people will go to any lengths to get your car but it gives you enough time to call the police and for them to stop the theiving toe rags from ruining your pride and joy. (and pick it up 400m down the road cos its cut out )

Yes, very bad news - as for a 'defence kit' I would not recommend it, they will probably take it off you and use it on you - a device which cut out after half a mile would be good.
I would hazard a guess that the P1 driver was possibly racing the RST, and why not?? the cars came together, the P1 driver stopped and got out - the laddies fancied their chances and took the car.
Its only a piece of metal, not worth dying for, we do love our cars I know - but it is a hazard of driving a teenagers icon .... they want one and will take one fair or foul. The sentence needs to reflect what it has done to the owner, I can imagine the owner deciding to buy a Skoda Octavia and be at peace (it is begining to enter my mind also - why drive something that attracts undesireables?) I witnessed the Sierra Cosworth days in the 80's when insurance costs killed the cars off - you just couldnt insure them AT ALL!!
One of the reasons I bought a wagon was to keep a low profile and still have the performance - park it nose in somewhere and it disappears - park a P1 anywhere and its a target. Those flame throwers in S.Africa look really good!!
Dont everyone scare themselves silly about this however, keep it in perspective, its like sleeping with the keys under your pillow - DONT do it - it puts your head between them and the car - NOT a wise move!!

Guys'n'gals...its not restricted to the P1's...its all our cars that are at risk...
Yes the P1's come with Trackstar as standard...so the best thing to do is let them take the car...then call the Tracking guys to sort it...never try and fight it! Your life I'm sure is more important than the Scoobs...I hope!!!
Not nice tho...hope everyone was/is OK..

I have heard of this trick before, read it in the standard some months ago. Apparently there are gangs of organised car thieves going around London doing it in order to get the cars with their keys (+ immobiliser) with minimal repairable damage to the motor itself. I would be interested (as a P1 owner) to hear if the Trackstar fulfilled its promise. If these guys knew what they are doing they would probably be able to whip the thing out in 5 minutes as they are not that hard to find if you know where to look (I won't post that information) F&*^ing Thieving B*stards.

Just a thought, but is it a great idea to shout that all P1s come with trackstar?
This device relies on it not being ripped out by thieving ******. If they know it's there, they'll look for it.
Am I being paranoid? Is it worth editing this thread?
Please, *no-one* post where they could be located.
Nick.

Edit your post Chiark....you are being somewhat over paranoid I think....if a P1 is being pinched to order then I guess they already know that RAC Trackstar is fitted as standard...

Sorry for getting this thread back on track, but I relish the chance of some scumbags trying to hijack my car.
I know it's only a car, but it's MY fricking car which I've worked hard to pay for. I will fight tooth and nail any to$$er who wants to try and take her away. Apart from anything else, the whole insurance etc palaver will take weeks/months to sort out. Why should I be without a car for weeks/months because some scumbag wants to steal my car.
Bring it on scum, just try and hijack my car - it may be a day you live to regret...

Here, here. Unfortunatly the way that things are going, we will either end up getting shot or banged up for giving one of the theifs a black eye. How people can think that they have the right to help themselves to our prized possesions is beyond me. I don't think that it will get any better either.....

ive had tracker fitted in my 330ci. the info pack tells you NOT to tell anyone you have this, and dont put any stickers or warnings on the car, otherwise the thieves will tear the car to bits looking for the tracker bits and bobs.
pete, since i got the 330, its GREAT blending into the background, with NO unwanted attention, yet my car still goes like the clappers. grrrreat!
