New Impreza + Mods
#1
I going to buy a UK version Impreza (1996/8 reg) I would like to know how much I should pay for it. Also when I get the car I want to do the following mods, do u think I should consider something else, instead of these mods?
MODS:
HKS Super drager 5"
HKS Induction Kit
HKS Spakplugs
GGR centre Pod + Gauges
OZ Super Leggera wheels (17")
STI 5 rearwing
(With the above I have been qouted £1700 for insurance, under my dads name).

Firstly, if you start demanding replies after 19 minutes as a newbie you'd also better buy an asbestos suit....that does wind people up on here.
Right, to answer your question - it is your money, nobody can tell you what to spend it on. Do what YOU want, not what others suggest.
Price of car, impossible to say. Depends on year and condition. Compare prices and it will give you an idea.
Lastly, if you are going to insure it in your dad's name but you will be the principal driver, forget it! This is fraud. It has also been tried on so many times you will get found out by insurers. You will then be unable to buy car insurance at all.
Insurance is based on utmost good faith. That suggestion isn't.

I hear what u saying, which insurance companies would u recommend for cheap quotes and I am 22 years old, with zero no claims.
U did say the price of the car depends on the condition and millage. How much roughly should I pay for a P plate Impreza, with about 60K on the clock, green paintwork, and no mods, and in showroom condition?

on the insurance side of things, £1700 is too much for insurance specially as your not the main driver!!!!!
Im also 22 but i do have full no claims(5 yrs) (ive been carefull/lucky) and could have got insured for £880 on an unmodified car, as it stands im paying just over 1k becuase the wheels and other bits are insured for there value, I recomend Privilege insurance they were the best for me but it's different for every person.
How ever boring it may sound you'd be best building up some no claims on something more 'tame' than a scoob to reduce insurance. im not even sure any insurers would touch you with no driving experiance!
up to you in the end mate but as Dave T-S said what you are proposing to do is criminal and it won't get your insurance any cheaper next time round either.....
Just my views...
Cheers

Yeah, and that's just for a 7500k service

I am sorry to say that at 22 with zero NCB (why no NCB? - driving on others' insurance; or had claims?) - there will be no such thing as a cheap quote for you.
If any insurance company will touch you at all, with the details you have given so far, you are probably looking at the thick end of £2,000 or more for cover.....
