I am thinking of running some sort of competition in the SIDC Club mag. Apart from some runner up prizes of products there may well be a valet as one of the prizes.
Can any one give me an idea or several as to how to run competition and format...I'm new to this.

You will need a tie breaker which is subjective and up to the judging panel. It's then optional whether you ask a load of difficult questions which all have to be answered correctly first.
Will the competition be postal or judget at an SIDC event ?
Specify a closing date, but remember that not everyone seems to get True Grip on the same day.

The usual thing to do with these sort of competitions, is to make them somehow related to your products, but where the answers can be easily found out by visiting your website or calling you directly ![](http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif)
Eg
Q1) What percentage Wax has product X ?
Q2) What is the name of the product used before waxing ?
Q3) What is the name of the Wheel Cleaning Product
Q4) What is the most expensive wax in the Zymol Range
Q5) What type of wax is used in Zymol products.
That way everyone has a chance of getting the correct answers with a bit of research, it's not too difficult which puts off a lot of people, and it gives them a better idea of the prizes they are going to win.
I think the next issue is going to print soon, so I would contact Andy H to make sure there is space for the competition to be included.
Do I qualify for my free Zymol kit and valet yet ? (I also have the dirtiest Impreza at the moment, which has been unpolished/waxed since last April!!!)

How about a caption competition? Use an amusing photo from one of the many websites with pics from Scooby meets (get permission first, of course
) and ask people to suggest an amusing caption. It wouldn't have to be related to Zymol of course but if you could find a pic of a really dirty car you might get some Zymol-related suggestions.

You can have a pic of mine, its absolutely filthy at the minute
could always do a head and shoulders type thing, "this side was washed with Product A, this side with Zymol" etc

Mark,
I think John's suggestions seem to be nearest the mark. Questions about your products would be good as they're relatively easy to research, yet require the product info which in enclosed with the kits.
Follow that with a tie-breaker and I think you'll be spot on.
However you could always make a special award to the best kit to have used detail wax.
Having said that you'd have to give it to Micklethwaite now he's got it.......Bugger!
Cheers
