Party in the streets - Saxo Boy has got a scooby :D

Just got home with my new pride and joy. Its got a scoobysport backbox and dawes and is very quick. Took it easy on the road back but had a few moments of flashing past the odd truck or two. Can't believe how quickly we passed them
Also!!! For months I've asked if a UK turbo will get tail happy in the wet under power and usually the answer from you lot is no! I can confirm that it does I see a wet mini roundabout and no traffic and decide to floor it in second. Here's me thinking the 4WD will do all the work and grip but just as I hit peak boost the back-end started to swing round She gave me enough warning and with a slight reduction in acceleration and a bit of opposite lock she straightened up nice and smoothly. Sooooooo much fun though
The dawes makes a massive difference. I'll need to spend some time in a TEC3 car before I'll know whether its worth the extra cash.
Cleaning and polishing tomorrow.....pictures to follow

I agree ADP Just back from a run in the country and these thinks fairly move about it you provoke them on a corner. I've been giving it some stick on corners I know just slowly but surely building up my knowledge of its limits. I'm surprised to see that they do give you a lot of info through yer a$$ as to when they are going to let go, etc.
Such a different car to the saxo, if you worked the saxo to death (i.e. 5k and above always) it would put in a good shift of keeping up in a straight line but through the bends (especially wet, muddy, etc one) you wouldn't have a hope. Very glad I made the switch from hot-hatches to 4WD.
Watching the fuel gauge is quite comical though Still, at least I knew what to expect. Last night sipie texted me and said, 'congratulations mate, and welcome to bankrupcy' I think he got that one spot on
It's a MY99 doug, DBM, 4 door - none o' yer wagon crap - and it has a dawes, boost gauge and scoobysport back box. Pictures to follow when I clean her up but at the moment I keep taking it out and getting it dirty
Edited cause I kan't spel

Certainly was kart man I'd just been to nobles for a service quote. Ah, not even 24 hours old and spotted already.
Cheers for the thoughts moles dad, the tail caught me a little by surprise but is was very easy to take control of it. Felt like I could have provoked further for real fun I've been to a few huge empty roundabouts (hermiston gate - for the Edinburgh lads) and gave the car some serious abuse to try and get a feel for its limits. I was surprise how adjustable it actually is You can (on a trailing throttle) balance it very easily between understeer and oversteer. Waiting for the turbo to spool up mid-bend is a little frightening though cause I'm used to an instant throttle response.

Great to hear you got your scoob SB!
I live in the Hermiston Gate area and go through Gogar roundabout from edinburgh, up the bypass, down onto Hermiston Gate and onto the M8 every morning. The opportunities for traffic light GP's and flat out racing is superb....... as a certain guy on a bike can testify too as he found himself staring at my back box as I flew up the M8 (and a guy I see regularly in a Cupra )
(The bike did get past on the motorway though but he was in my back pocket in the roundabout twisties )
I'll keep an eye out for you
sKunk - red MY97, 16" gold speedlines and a prodrive back box

Skunk, you don't live just along from PC world do you, I got passed by a red (looked MY97) with gold speedlines about and hour ago. Only thing is the backbox looked like the oval magnex as opposed to the prodrive one.

Sounds like me
The back box is oval but not a wide as the magnex and it's stamped WRSport which I'm told is a prodrive box. It was on the car when I got it so I'm not 100% sure
Were you at the Maybury lights in a dark (blue?) with a mid level spoiler?

Yeah that was me skunk, I noticed you gave a little 'blip' as you passed Two spots in my first day, got to be some kinda record
Scooby ownership hasn't all been a bed of roses so far though Just been out for a drive and was giving it a little stick (but not silly!) and some women followed me and took the plate down. The problem is the police will see the car registered down south and half of Edinburgh's police force will be looking out for me Better watch the speed for a while
