Since moving to Cambridge, I have been commuting up & down M11 with all its salt & road spray etc. Consequently, my car looked extremely very totally filthy & I was on the Chat Server as "Very Dirty Car".
A certain Mr Underwood (of Zymol fame) suggested that I get a pressure washer from B&Q, Homebase or the like.
WOW - that is one of the best £100 that I have ever spent. All the *rap & roadsalt, including the really heavy deposits, just flew away, leaving me a pleasant afternoon's work with Autobathe & HD Cleanse. It completely took the really hard elbow, boring & not satisfying tedious bit out of the job. Thoroughly recommended.
Only downside was that I found all the stonechips under the muck
Will now be on Chat Server as Nice Clean Car

Very Dirty Car alias Nice Clean Car
Glad to see you took good advise. Well done mate...hope u enjoy doing the rest
Around you stone chips do not hold the lance any closer than say 6". Should be ok to go closer as a hobby pressure washer does not create the same pressures as commercial ones do apart from which u are using cold water.
The really nasty ones are the "steam cl;eaners....stay well away
WOW
