Hi Peeps.
First i must say great site.
Ok here go,s. I have £12,000 to spend and its gota be an impreza turbo. It will obviously be second hand but £7-8000 seems to be the going rate for a P-S reg with good millage so it would still be quite new. I dont know alot about car mechanics and i am very cautiouse to part with my cash. Could any one give me some advice on buying second hand imprezas. Also what ever i dont spend on the actuall car i will spend improving so can any one suggest some worth while ajustments or kit.
Thanks every one.. peace

£7-8000 for a P-S reg turbo? Very unlikely unless thay have interstellar mileages I would say.

£ 7-8k - Stolen crashed/repaired teritory i am afraid - Barge-pole stuff

Expect £ 11K (ish maybe a bit more) for a S-plate 98 UK Turbo in good condition FSH and 60K

(I did a bit o' research for a mate on this)

£ 7-8K wil get y a nic 95/96 (ish vintage)

You can look at Jap imports - nothing wrong in most cases - They tend to be more powerful and a good spec.
You will need a full history, etc.

Get an insurance quote, and find out how much you'll need to budget for that. It's really getting worse.

If you're worried, how about a main dealer with a warrantied car? More expensive, but hopefully peace of mind.

Pay the RAC £200 and get them to do the full monty on it, which includes credit/HPI checks and gives your car a full going over.

The people I've known do this have found it's paid for itself come haggling time.
